‘The Blue Edge I – VIII’ This series is a result of Judes’ interest in the chalky landscape of the Isle of Wight and her passion for coastal regions. Although influenced by landscape she wants to capture the feeling of the place rather than its literal reality. The paintings have developed from her interest in maritime maps; they are evocative of island, with sea, sky and land merging into different forms. A slightly surreal edge to the work invites the viewer to reflect. Boats are consistent images.
